Al-Hassan ag Abdoul Aziz is a former head of the Islamic police force in Timbuktu, Mali, who was convicted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity related to his role in overseeing torture and public executions during the jihadist takeover of the city in 2012.
