Alexander Klimenko
Alexander Klimenko is the Chief Anti-Corruption Prosecutor of Ukraine and the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). He has been vocal about the threats to the independence of anti-corruption institutions in Ukraine, particularly in light of recent legislative changes that would place the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and SAP under the control of the Prosecutor General, a position appointed by the president. Klimenko warned that such moves could undermine the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts and lead to increased political pressure and smear campaigns against his office. He has stressed the importance of maintaining the autonomy of these agencies to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law in Ukraine.
