Anicet Georges Ekane

Anicet Georges Ekane was a prominent Cameroonian political figure and the president of the Mouvement africain pour la nouvelle indépendance et la démocratie (Manidem). He was known for his opposition to the government and was arrested following the presidential elections in October 2025, during which he supported another candidate who claimed victory. Ekane tragically died in detention on December 1, 2025, and his family is currently seeking the release of his remains for burial amidst ongoing investigations into his death.
