Antonio Emmanuele Ne Vunda

Antonio Emmanuele Ne Vunda was the first African ambassador to the Vatican, representing the Kingdom of Congo in 1604. His journey to Rome took an arduous four years, during which he faced numerous dangers, including pirate attacks. Although he arrived in poor health and died shortly after presenting his credentials, his visit marked a significant moment in the history of diplomatic relations between Africa and Europe.
