
Ascanio Arosemena
Ascanio Arosemena was a young Panamanian student and ex-alumnus of the Instituto Nacional, known for his bravery during the protests against the absence of the Panamanian flag at the Balboa High School in January 1964. He tragically became the first of 22 Panamanians to die in the ensuing violence when he was shot while trying to assist a fellow student.
