Aspar

Aspar was a prominent military leader and chief of the palace guard in the Byzantine Empire during the 5th century. Of Alan descent, he wielded significant power and influence, particularly during the reign of Leo I, and was known for his attempts to control the emperors, including Leo II and Zeno.
