Marcian

Marcian was the Byzantine emperor from 450 to 457 AD. He is recognized for his military leadership and efforts to defend the empire against invading barbarian tribes, particularly the Huns. Marcian's reign is noted for his fiscal prudence and his efforts to restore stability and growth in the empire following the death of Theodosius II.
