Bernardo Jaramillo
Bernardo Jaramillo was a Colombian politician and the candidate for the leftist Unión Patriótica party in the 1990 presidential elections. He was assassinated at the Bogotá airport in March 1990, becoming one of the many political figures targeted during a period of intense violence in Colombia. His murder was part of a broader pattern of political assassinations that included other candidates, which highlighted the dangers faced by politicians in a country deeply affected by drug trafficking and political conflict.
