Boris Pugo
Boris Pugo was a Soviet politician who served as the Minister of Internal Affairs during the tumultuous period of the late Soviet Union. He is perhaps best known for his role in the failed coup attempt in August 1991, which aimed to restore hardline communist control over the government. Following the failure of the coup, Pugo was found dead in his apartment, an apparent suicide that marked a significant moment in the collapse of Soviet authority.
