Camilo Cienfuegos

Camilo Cienfuegos was a prominent Cuban revolutionary and a key figure in the Cuban Revolution alongside Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara. Born on February 6, 1932, in Havana, Cienfuegos became known for his charismatic leadership and military prowess during the guerrilla warfare against the Batista regime. Following the successful overthrow of Batista in 1959, he held various governmental roles, including serving as a commander in the Cuban Revolutionary Army. His legacy is celebrated in Cuba, particularly during the annual Jornada Camilo-Che, which commemorates his contributions to the revolution and his mysterious disappearance in 1959 when his plane went missing over the sea.
