Cândido Barata Ribeiro
Cândido Barata Ribeiro was a Brazilian physician and politician who served as a minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) for 11 months in 1894. His appointment was notable for being the only instance in Brazilian history where a STF minister was dismissed by the legislative branch, as his nomination was rejected by the Senate due to concerns about his legal qualifications. Prior to his tenure at the STF, he was the mayor of Rio de Janeiro.
