Carl I

Carl I, also known as Charles I of England, was a monarch who ruled from 1625 until his execution in 1649. His reign was marked by conflicts with Parliament, leading to the English Civil War and the eventual establishment of the Commonwealth under Oliver Cromwell. Carl I's struggle for power and belief in the divine right of kings ultimately led to his downfall and significant changes in the British monarchy.
