Carlomagno
Carlomagno, also known as Charles the Great, was a medieval ruler who became the King of the Franks and later the Emperor of the Romans. Born around 742, he is remembered for uniting much of Western Europe during the early Middle Ages and for his efforts in promoting education and Christianity. His reign marked a significant turning point in European history, leading to the Carolingian Renaissance, a revival of art, culture, and learning based on classical models. Carlomagno's military campaigns were notable for their intensity, particularly against Muslim forces in the Iberian Peninsula. He was crowned Emperor by Pope Leo III in 800, symbolizing the fusion of Roman, Christian, and Germanic elements that characterized the period. He died in 814, and his legacy continued to influence European politics and society for centuries.
