Carmen Rendiles
Carmen Rendiles (1903-1977) was a Venezuelan nun who dedicated her life to religious service after joining the French-origin community of Siervas de Jesús in 1927. Despite being born without one of her arms, she demonstrated a remarkable spirit of compassion and service, founding the Belén school in Caracas in 1955 and serving as a teacher for novices. In 1966, she played a crucial role in the establishment of the Siervas de Jesús Congregation, where she served as superior general until her death. She was beatified on June 16, 2018, and recently gained news attention as the Vatican approved her second miracle, paving the way for her potential canonization.
