Carol Quintul
Carol Quintul, born on February 24, 1500, in Ghent, was the Holy Roman Emperor from 1519 until his abdication in 1556. He was also King of Spain, ruling as Charles I from 1516 to 1556. As a member of several significant European royal houses, he presided over vast territories, including the Holy Roman Empire and Spanish colonies in the Americas. His reign saw significant expansions in the New World, thanks to explorers like Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro. He died on September 21, 1558, and his remains were later transferred to the royal pantheon at El Escorial.
