Elena Vacarescu
Elena Văcărescu, born on September 21, 1864, in Bucharest, was a prominent Romanian poet, diplomat, and advocate for peace. She studied in Paris, where she published her first poetry collection, 'Chants d’Aurore,' earning accolades from the French Academy. Văcărescu played a notable role in international diplomacy as a member of Romania's delegation to the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 and later became a prominent member of the League of Nations. In 1925, she made history as the first woman to be elected as a member of the Romanian Academy. She passed away on February 17, 1947, in Paris.
