Chabuca Granda, born in 1920, was a celebrated Peruvian composer and singer renowned for her rich interpretations of criollo waltzes and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. Her powerful and clear vocal style made her one of the most iconic figures in Latin American music until her passing in 1983.
