
Christina Kyrousi
Christina Kyrousi is an accomplished researcher who returned to Greece in February 2021 to serve as an Assistant Professor at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. With a degree in Biology from the University of Patras, she completed her PhD there before pursuing postdoctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich. Her research focuses on the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms governing the development of the human brain, particularly in relation to neurodevelopmental, neurological, and psychiatric disorders. Kyrousi emphasizes the importance of maintaining talent in Greece and has been recognized with a competitive EMBO Installation Grant in 2024, which highlights her contributions to the scientific community.
