Ioanna Keklikoglou

Ioanna Keklikoglou is a prominent cancer researcher who returned to Greece at the end of 2022 to become an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Crete. After earning her degree in Biology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she completed her PhD at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg and pursued postdoctoral research at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where she made significant discoveries regarding cancer resistance mechanisms. Keklikoglou's research focuses on breast cancer and therapy resistance mechanisms, and she has been actively involved in European cancer research initiatives, including obtaining an EMBO Installation Grant, although she currently faces challenges due to funding delays.
