Dimitris Anastasakis
Dimitris Anastasakis is an Assistant Professor at the Medical School of the University of Crete, having returned to Greece about 1.5 years ago. He holds a degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the University of Thessaly, and he completed his graduate and doctoral studies at the University of Patras, along with postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States. His research focuses on RNA-protein interactions and their role in gene expression regulation. Anastasakis has been selected for the EMBO Installation Grants in 2025, though he is currently awaiting funding, which has raised concerns about the support for scientific research in Greece.
