DJ Carey is a former Kilkenny hurler, celebrated as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He has won five All-Ireland senior titles and was named Hurler of the Year in 2000. Recently, he pleaded guilty to defrauding individuals by falsely claiming he needed funds for cancer treatment.
