Dmitry Markov was a renowned Russian photographer known for his powerful and evocative imagery that captured the essence of life in contemporary Russia. His work often explored themes of identity, societal issues, and the stark contrasts within Russian society, making him a significant figure in the realm of visual arts. Sadly, Markov passed away at the age of 41, just before he was set to contribute to Kirill Serebrennikov's production of Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov, which was dedicated to his memory.
