Edīte Pauls-Vīgnere

Edīte Pauls-Vīgnere, born on September 16, 1939, is a distinguished Latvian textile artist known for her innovative contributions to the field. She graduated from the Riga School of Applied Arts in 1962 and later from the Latvian Academy of Arts in 1968, marking the beginning of a prolific career in textile art. Pauls-Vīgnere has participated in exhibitions since 1967, earning recognition both domestically and internationally. Her work has been celebrated at numerous solo exhibitions abroad, receiving acclaim from critics and audiences alike. In 2014, she was awarded the Order of the Three Stars, and in 2023, she received the Purvītis Prize for her lifetime achievements in art, highlighting her significant impact on textile art over more than fifty years.
