Eliseo Núñez

Eliseo Núñez is a Nicaraguan lawyer and opposition figure known for his critical analysis of the constitutional reforms enacted by President Daniel Ortega and his wife, Rosario Murillo. He has been vocal about the dangers these reforms pose to democracy in Nicaragua, arguing that they pave the way for a familial succession of power akin to a 'sultanate' rather than a monarchy. Núñez is associated with the Centro de Estudios Transdisciplinarios de Centroamérica (Cetcam), where he presented a study highlighting the authoritarian implications of the new constitutional changes.
