Erlan Isabekov

Erlan Isabekov has been appointed as the head of the Almaty city administration, following the recent appointment of Darhan Satybaldy as the akim of Almaty. Isabekov has an extensive background in mathematics and economics, holding degrees from Kazakh National University and Georgetown University in the United States. His career began as a mathematics teacher and has included various roles within Kazakhstan's government, including positions in the Ministry of State Revenues and the Committee of Customs Control. He also served as akim (district head) in different regions before becoming a state inspector at the Presidential Administration prior to his latest appointment.
