Felix Baumgartner
Felix Baumgartner was an Austrian skydiver and daredevil known for his extraordinary feats in extreme sports. He gained worldwide fame on October 14, 2012, when he made a historic jump from the stratosphere at an altitude of nearly 39,000 meters, becoming the first person to break the sound barrier in free fall, reaching speeds of 1,357.6 km/h. This iconic jump not only set several world records, including the highest altitude and highest freefall jump, but also marked a significant milestone in the fields of skydiving and human exploration. Tragically, Baumgartner passed away at the age of 56 during a paragliding incident in Fermo, Italy, after reportedly suffering a health issue mid-flight.
