Fernando Eduardo Artese
Fernando Eduardo Artese is a 63-year-old dual citizen of Italy and Argentina, who was arrested in late June 2025 while attempting to leave the United States for Argentina. His legal troubles began nearly a decade ago when he overstayed his visa after entering the U.S. from Spain. His family joined him in 2018, with his wife on a student visa and his daughter arriving legally. Artese was apprehended due to an outstanding warrant related to a missed court appearance for a driving without a license charge. Following his arrest, he was transferred to the Alligator Alcatraz immigration detention facility.
