Fjodor I of Russia, also known as Fyodor Ivanovich, was the son of Ivan the Terrible and ascended to the throne in 1584 after his father's death. His reign was marked by his mental illness, which resulted in a largely ineffective rule, leading to significant power struggles among the nobility and ultimately the Time of Troubles in Russia.
