Frans Mendur

Frans Mendur was a dedicated Indonesian photographer known for capturing significant historical moments during the Indonesian struggle for independence. Along with his brother Alex, he documented the historic proclamation of independence on August 17, 1945. Working as a photographer for Asia Raya newspaper and later co-founding the Indonesian Press Photo Service (IPPHOS), Frans played a crucial role in preserving the visual history of Indonesia's fight for freedom.
