Germán Anuar Valencia, known as 'Napo', was a candidate for the mayoralty of Coxquihui, Veracruz, representing the Morena party. Tragically, he was shot during an attack on his campaign headquarters shortly after the commencement of the electoral campaign period in Veracruz. Despite being rushed to a hospital following the incident, he succumbed to his injuries, prompting widespread condemnation and concern regarding the violence faced by political candidates in Mexico.
