Herschel Grynszpan

Herschel Grynszpan was a Polish Jewish teenager who became infamous in 1938 for assassinating a Nazi diplomat, Ernst vom Rath, at the German Embassy in Paris. His act of violence was a response to the brutal treatment of his family and other Polish Jews, who had been expelled from Germany and left in dire conditions at the Polish border. Grynszpan's actions were exploited by the Nazi regime to further their anti-Semitic propaganda, serving as a catalyst for the violence of Kristallnacht and the eventual escalation towards the Holocaust.
