Hussein al-Houthi
Hussein al-Houthi was the founder of the Houthi movement, formally known as Ansar Allah, which emerged in Yemen during the 1990s. He was a prominent figure in the Zaidi Shia community and led the group in its early conflicts against the Yemeni government. His leadership was marked by a strong opposition to American and Israeli influence in the region. Al-Houthi was killed in 2004 during a government crackdown on the movement, but his legacy continued as the Houthis evolved into a significant political and military force in Yemen, particularly during the Yemeni Civil War.
