
Igor Gromyko
Igor Gromyko is a Russian diplomat and the grandson of Andrei Gromyko, the former Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs and a significant figure in international diplomacy during the Cold War. Igor began his diplomatic career in 1979 and has held various roles within the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including serving as the Permanent Representative of Russia to the Commonwealth of Independent States from 2009 to 2014. He became the Ambassador of Russia to Mali in 2019. Recently, he was in the news for being relieved of his duties as Ambassador to Niger, a position he held concurrently, with Victor Voropaev appointed to replace him.
