Iván Morales Corrales
Iván Morales Corrales was a former subofficer of the now-defunct Federal Police in Mexico, known for being the sole survivor of a 2015 helicopter attack orchestrated by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) during an operation to capture its leader, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias 'El Mencho.' Suffering severe injuries, including burns over 70% of his body, he underwent multiple surgeries and garnered national attention, even being greeted by then-President Enrique Peña Nieto. Tragically, Morales Corrales was recently ambushed and killed in Temixco, along with a female companion, in what authorities suspect may be a revenge attack related to his past as a police officer.
