Ivan Safronov
Ivan Safronov is a 34-year-old former economic journalist who previously worked for the prominent Russian newspaper Kommersant Vedomosti. He served as an advisor to Dmitry Rogozin, the former head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos. Safronov was arrested in 2020 on charges of treason for allegedly passing information to NATO, a claim he has consistently denied. In late 2022, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison, a ruling many believe was influenced by his vocal opposition to the Russian military's operations.
