
Julia Loktev
Julia Loktev is an American-Russian filmmaker born in 1969 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She emigrated to the United States with her parents in 1978, and has since established herself as a notable director and videographer. Loktev is known for her thought-provoking films that often explore themes of human experience and societal challenges. Her debut feature film, 'Day Night Day Night,' premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. She has received critical acclaim, including the Grand Prix at the Cinéma du Réel for her documentary 'Moment of Impact' in 1998, which focused on her family's life following a traumatic event. Recently, she unveiled her film shot in Moscow before the Ukraine war at the Cinéma du réel festival in Paris.
