Ivan Shevtsov

Ivan Shevtsov is a 99-year-old war veteran from Semey, Kazakhstan, who served in the Red Army during World War II. Born in Russia's Altai Krai, he joined the army at the age of 18, participating in the liberation of Poland and Czechoslovakia. Throughout his life, he has cherished family and the peace that followed the war more than any military accolades, which include the Order of the Patriotic War and the Order of the Red Star. Ivan recalls the camaraderie and resilience of his fellow soldiers, the impact of inspiring leaders, and the challenges faced during the post-war years, ultimately dedicating his life to his family and community.
