Jhoan Bastidas

Jhoan Bastidas, a 25-year-old originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, migrated to Colombia during his teenage years. In October 2023, he crossed the border from Mexico into the United States seeking a better life for his grandmother, who suffers from a stroke. His hopes turned into a nightmare when he was detained in Texas and wrongfully linked to the Tren de Aragua criminal organization due to his tattoos, which authorities deemed suspicious. His family insists that his only crime was entering the U.S. illegally, highlighting his innocent background in construction and car washing.
