
João Paulo Cunha
João Paulo Cunha is a Brazilian politician and former president of the Chamber of Deputies, who served from 2003 to 2005. He was convicted in the mensalão scandal, a major political corruption case, and sentenced to over six years in prison for peculato and corruption. After serving part of his sentence, he was pardoned in 2016. Currently, he is involved in legal advocacy, representing the Brazilian Association of Closed Supplementary Pension Entities (Abrapp) and working to challenge the oversight of pension funds by the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU).
