Juan Carlos Javier is the president of the National Aquaculture Association of Honduras (Andah). He has been vocal about the challenges faced by Honduran shrimp farmers in competing with lower prices offered by Chinese consumers compared to those from Taiwan. Under his leadership, Andah has sought to diversify export markets and adapt to the changing trade dynamics following Honduras' decision to establish diplomatic relations with China in March 2023.
