Juan de Leyden

Juan de Leyden was a key figure in the radical Anabaptist movement during the Protestant Reformation, known for leading the brief but tumultuous takeover of Münster in 1534-1535, where he proclaimed the city as a New Jerusalem and fostered a theocratic regime, until its violent siege by opposing forces resulted in a brutal massacre.
