Kamala D. Harris

Kamala D. Harris is an American politician and attorney who served as the Vice President of the United States from January 2021 to January 2025, becoming the first woman, first Black woman, and first Asian American Vice President in U.S. history. Prior to her vice presidency, she was a U.S. Senator from California and served as the Attorney General of California. Harris has been a prominent figure in advocating for social justice, healthcare reform, and diversity and equity initiatives. She is currently in the news following former President Donald Trump's decision to revoke her Secret Service protection, which had been extended by a directive from then-President Joe Biden, amid her upcoming book tour.
