Kanimozhi is an Indian politician and a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, representing the Thoothukudi constituency in Tamil Nadu. As a prominent political figure and daughter of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, she has been an advocate for various social issues, including women's rights and education.
