Leo Frank
Leo Frank was a Jewish factory manager in Georgia who was wrongfully convicted in 1913 of the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan. His trial was heavily influenced by rampant antisemitism, and he was lynched by a mob in 1915 after his death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment due to insufficient evidence. Frank's case has become a significant historical example of racial and ethnic injustice in the United States, leading to the eventual formation of the Anti-Defamation League.
