Liana Poutu

Liana Poutu is a descendant of Tamati Whanganui and a key figure in the Treaty settlement negotiations for Taranaki iwi. She has played a significant role in addressing historical grievances related to land confiscation and advocating for the recognition of the spiritual connection Māori have with their land, including the recent acknowledgment of Taranaki Maunga as a legal person.
