Sir George Grey

Sir George Grey was a colonial administrator and politician in New Zealand who served as Premier and Governor. He played a pivotal role in the events leading up to the invasion of Parihaka, attempting to negotiate land settlements but ultimately contributing to the tensions that resulted in the violent suppression of peaceful protests by Māori.
