Liao Xilong
Liao Xilong was a prominent Chinese military leader who served as the Minister of Logistics for the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and held the rank of General. Born in January 1938 in Guizhou Province, he joined the PLA in 1959 and later became a member of the Chinese Communist Party in 1963. Throughout his career, Liao held several key positions, including commanding the 11th Army and serving as deputy and then commander of the Chengdu Military Region. He was appointed as the head of the PLA's General Logistics Department in 2002 and was a member of the Central Military Commission. Liao was recognized for his contributions to the military and was promoted to the rank of General in 2000. He passed away at the age of 85, prompting widespread condolences from current and former Chinese leaders, including Xi Jinping.
