Luis Alonso Abarca

Luis Alonso Abarca is a prominent human rights activist and the coordinator of the Digna Ochoa Human Rights Committee in Tapachula, Mexico. He has been vocal about the increasing vulnerability of migrants in the region, particularly in light of restrictive immigration policies implemented after Donald Trump's return to the White House. Abarca has raised concerns that such policies are benefiting organized crime, as migrants, especially women and children, face exploitation and extortion from traffickers promising safe passage to the United States.
