Ma Ruilin
Ma Ruilin is a former mid-ranking official in the Chinese Communist Party who became a whistleblower after fleeing China to escape the oppressive regime. At the age of 50, he left behind a comfortable life in government to run a restaurant in New York, driven by disillusionment with Beijing's policies, particularly regarding the treatment of religious minorities. Ma has publicly revealed his involvement in the design and implementation of surveillance programs targeting these groups and has described the United Front Work Department, a branch of the Party he once served, as a tool of transnational repression. His courageous decision to expose these secrets aims to shed light on the systemic abuses in China and provide hope to those suffering under the regime.
