Makarios Melissenos

Makarios Melissenos was a Greek eyewitness and chronicler of the fall of Constantinople in 1453. His writings document the catastrophic events during the siege, including the suffering of the citizens and the brutal actions taken by the Ottoman troops following their victorious assault on the city.
